One Trick Pony
When their favorite Brooklyn coffeehouse closes because of declining business longtime friends Jesse, Abigail, Randall, and Kate are more adrift than ever before. That is, until a mysterious young Frenchwoman named Caroline Deneuve reopens the door of the One Trick Pony. Caroline’s delicious coffee becomes all the rage in the neighborhood, and soom Jesse, Abigail, and Randall are drinking a lot of it.
Things begin to change. Jesse is no longer satisfied with one-night stands and shallow girls—all he think about is Caroline and how unusual she is. Shy poet Abigail has withdrawn from her friends even more since her mom died, but now she’s ready to do something drastic: move in with her college-student boyfriend. Randall is tired of writing unrequited-love songs about Abigail, but now he’s considering letting her listen to all of them. As for know-it-all Kate, she’s been the anchor of this group for years, and now everybody except her is acting very strange.
Does it have something to do with the coffee? No one is sure. But one thing is certain: their lives will never be the same.
